Regular checkups are extremely important. Our dentists need to routinely inspect your mouth to see if there are any dental problems and to keep your mouth healthy and maintained. At our Dental Practices we believe preventative dental care is the best way to approach your dental health care. Preventative dental care means focusing on your oral health as a whole, keeping your mouth healthy and happy whilst giving you the skills to maintain and improve your oral health in between checkups.
How often to do I need a check up?
After you’ve seen the dentist he will recommend the next time you should return for your next check up. Generally, the lower your risk of dental problems, the longer you can wait before your next check-up. People with good oral health may only need to see us once every 12 months or two years, but those with problematic teeth will need more regular check-ups.
What will happen at my check up?
At your check up the dentist will:
examine your teeth, gums and mouth
Ask about your general health and any problems you've had with your teeth, mouth or gums since your last visit
Ask about, and give you advice on, your diet, smoking and alcohol use, and teeth-cleaning habits
